In the same way, our lawyers participate as speakers in different professional forums and the office organizes an event every month for Insurers, Brokers, underwriting departments, claims and Risk Managers.
As an example in 2017, we celebrated a seminar on Cyber Security, Data Protection and Insurance:
On the one hand, the increase of the social perception that cyber-risk is one of the biggest problems to be tackled no longer in the future, but immediately, means that more and more economic and professional sectors are approaching the figure of the Cyber risk and its assurance.
On the other hand, next May 25th 2018 will begin to apply the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Both responsible and decision makers of the treatment have to comply with the principle of proactive responsibility. Failure to comply can lead to fines of up to 20 million euros or up to 4% of the overall turnover of a company. In addition, the (GDPR) also has important implications for insurers, which are necessary to know.
For this we will have the presence of the following speakers:
- D. Francisco Martínez Vázquez, Deputy in courts, former Secretary of State for security, lawyer of the general courts.
- Mr. Miguel Recio Gayo, Lawyer, Associate Professor in the International Master’s degree in Data Protection, Transparency and Access to Information of the CEU-San Pablo University. Author and co-author of several publications on personal data protection and ICT Law in Spain and Latin America, and winner of several awards in the field of legal research on personal data protection and ICT Law.
